To fill vacancies in the field of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering in various ministries, departments and organizations under the Government of India, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) examination. SSC JE Notification 2024 is now available on the official website of the organization www.ssc.gov.in. The number of vacancies for Junior Engineer posts has increased to 1,765. In Level-6 of the pay matrix of 7th Central Pay Commission, these SSC JE posts are classified as Group B (Non-Gazetted) Their salary range is Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400. in hindi given below

SSC JE 2024 Exam Pattern

The 2024 SSC JE exam will consist of two papers. There will be two papers: one of 200 marks and the other of 300 marks. Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will have multiple choice questions. For each wrong answer in Paper 1, the candidate will lose 0.25 marks, and for each wrong answer in Paper 2, they will lose 1 mark.

SSC JE selection process is done in the following order:

Paper 1: Multiple choice, objective type questions on Computer Based Testing (CBT).
Paper 2: This CBT consists of multiple choice, objective type questions.
Verification of Documents: After success in the examination, candidates have to submit their documents for verification.
Candidates are required to answer questions from the General Engineering Part (Part A, B, or C) in Paper 1 and 2 as per their educational stream or subject of study.

SSC JE 2024 Syllabus

SSC JE 2024 Tier 1 (Paper 1) syllabus, which is of 200 marks, is divided into three main sections:

Overall mental ability and reasoning
Technical subjects: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Structural; general awareness

SUBJECT PAPER 1
General Intelligence & Reasoning: The Syllabus for General Intelligence would
include questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. The test may include
questions on analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, problemsolving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discrimination,
observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure
classification, arithmetical number series, etc. The test will also include questions
designed to test the candidate’s abilities to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationships, arithmetical computations and other analytical functions
General Awareness: Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general
awareness of the environment around him and its application to society.
Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and such
matters of everyday observations and experience in their scientific aspect as
may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include
questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining
to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity and Scientific
Research, etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special
study of any discipline.
